Hey everyone we started moving into the new gym today. We will start classes at the new location this Wednesday February 1st, 2012. The new gym location is 10115 West Van Buren St, Ste 2, Tolleson, AZ 85353. We will also be changing our website. We will keep this website but I will no longer be updating it. All future website posts will be at http://www.phoenixbjjmma.com.

Website Updates
We are continuing to update the website, work on getting our new facility and preparing for the upcoming tournament season. We will only be posting at this address for a short time before we unvail the new webpage and address. Once we give out the new address we will no longer be putting updates on this website.
New Facility
We are still working on getting the new facility. Everything is moving in the right direction and if everything goes well we will hopefully be in our new building by February 1st. The location will be near the I-10 and 101 intersection on Van Buren in Tolleson. Once we have the new facility we will be able to have practice 6 days a week, better hours, and possibly some morning classes on weekdays.
Upcomming Tournaments!!!
The 7th international BJJ open will be held at Phoenix College on March 3rd and 4th. We are encouraging our entire team to participate at this tournament. It is very well run and a great experience. To register visit http://gdjjevents.com/arizona-open-registration/.
Pan Ams will also be at the end of March on the 29th, 30th, 31st, and April 1st in Irvine, California. This is the 2nd biggest gi tournament of the year and has incredible competition. We would like to send a small team out to compete at this event. If your interested please let Kevin Scott know so we can work out travel details.
Friday is a Gi Practice
Remember Friday is now a gi practice for the wrestling and bjj sparring times to help us prepare for all of the upcoming tournaments. There are local tournaments every single month from March through June. March and June will also have the 2 biggest gi tournaments of the year, Pans Ams and Worlds. Fridays will remain gi until we get the new facility at which time the entire schedule will be going through major changes.
Judo will now be Wednesday Nights
Judo has moved from Tuesday to Wednesday night at 8pm. Tuesday will now be no gi bjj from 8-9pm and then no gi bjj sparring from 9-10pm. Wednesday will be Judo from 8-9pm, BJJ Sparring from 9-9:30pm and Boxing from 9:30pm-10pm.

New Name, New Look, New Year!!!!
I am sure many of you have noticed changes going on with the website. We are currently putting a new theme up and will be renaming our gym to Phoenix BJJ & MMA Academy. Over the next few weeks we will be making many transitions as we work to get our own martial arts studio space. Our new space will allow for more mat space, more hours, morning practices, and weekend training. We are going to be starting the new year off strong. Things are about to get exciting so stick around.

Kids Class Holiday Schedule
No kids Brazilian Jiu Jitsu class Friday 12/23 and Monday 12/26. Kids class will resume as normal on Wednesday 12/28.
Adult Class Holiday Schedule
No strength and conditioning class on Friday 12/23 and Monday 12/26. Our Friday 12/23 schedule is Wrestling at 7pm, BJJ at 8pm, and Boxing at 9pm. Our Monday 12/26 schedule is BJJ at 8pm and Boxing at 9:30pm.

John Crouch came out and put on a terrific seminar for us last night. John is an awesome coach and taught a lot of great techniques. We also promoted 4 of our members to blue belt. Congratulations to James Tran, Jose Acevedo, Jordan Cano, and Brandon Keomaka on your new belts and remember what John said “the belt only covers 2 inches of your behind, you need to cover the rest.“ Thank you everyone that came out to the seminar and thank you John for taking time out of your busy schedule to teach us some JCBJJ.

John Crouch Seminar and Promotions Wednesday 12/14
Royce Gracie Black Belt John Crouch will be coming out to teach a seminar and do promotions next Wednesday, 12/14/11. I would like to see all of our team attend. This is your chance to learn techniques from a great coach, and support your team members that are getting promoted. The cost will be $20 per person and the seminar will run from 7:30 to 9:00pm.
